Our story

It started with one beach and forty bin bags.

A Saturday clean-up that never stopped

Nine neighbours cleared Porthcarrow beach and found the same nets back a week later. They came back every Saturday for a year.

From removing damage to growing habitat

We planted our first seagrass plot with Merrow University. Two thirds of it survived the winter, which was enough to keep going.

Diving teams and real data

Volunteer divers now survey every site twice a year, so funders see the same numbers we do, good years and bad.

Handing sites back to the coast

Sixty-eight communities run their own restoration sites. Our job is shifting to training, funding and staying out of the way.

Nothing here is done alone.

Councils, fisheries, universities and funders shape every site with us, from the first survey to the handover.
