A vertical reel of "Reel Card" component instances (photo, photoAlt, title, category, badge count that hides when empty, and a two-word labelStart/labelEnd pair) built as a plain, fully editable Etch tree: section > container > header (eyebrow, h2, intro) > stage holding two ambient backdrop layers, the card track and prev/next controls with a live counter — duplicate, reorder or delete cards in Layers. Every option is a data attribute on the stage (edit it in Etch's attributes panel): data-autoplay (true|false, default true); data-delay (ms between auto-advances, default 3200); data-speed (transition ms, default 650); data-loop (true|false, default true); data-pause-on-hover (true|false, default true); data-arrows (true|false, default true); data-labels (true|false, default true) ambient left/right split label of the active card, hidden on narrow containers; data-glow (true|false, default true) full-bleed crossfading blurred backdrop sampled from the active photo. Inline JS sets a signed `–d` distance-from-active custom property on every card (CSS alone drives the stacked translate/scale/opacity/blur), autoplays on a guarded timer that pauses on hover, on keyboard focus and under prefers-reduced-motion, wraps or rewinds depending on data-loop, responds to Up/Down/Home/End arrow keys and a vertical touch swipe, crossfades the blurred backdrop between two layered images on every change, and swaps the ambient labelStart/labelEnd text to match the active card. Clicking any visible (including dimmed) card jumps straight to it. Works without JS as a static resting stack with the first card active. Labelled region, :focus-visible rings, AA contrast on the scrim, forced-colors borders.
