Three-panel showcase reel built as a plain, fully editable Etch tree: section > container > header (eyebrow, h2, intro, a global Pause button) > a tablist of two collection tabs ("Studio" / "Field") > two tabpanel decks, each a plain grid of three "Showcase Panel" component instances (duplicate, reorder, delete in Layers within either deck). Panel props: kicker, image1/image1Alt, image2/image2Alt, image3/image3Alt. Reel-level options as data attributes on the Reel element: data-autoplay (true|false) whether panels cycle their images on their own; data-interval (ms between crossfades per panel, default 3200); data-stagger (ms offset added per panel index so they never crossfade in sync, default 550); data-theme (light|dark) re-themes the section chrome. An inline script (built on the tabs.js roving-tablist pattern: click, Left/Right/Home/End, one tabpanel visible via [hidden]) starts one autoplay timer per visible panel, each offset by data-stagger × its position so the three panels crossfade their three stacked images out of sync instead of all at once; switching tabs restarts the newly visible deck's timers and stops the hidden deck's; the single Pause button (top of the header) stops and restarts every timer at once and updates its label/icon. Every crossfade is a plain opacity transition (no @keyframes), prefers-reduced-motion shows each panel's first image only and hides the Pause button entirely, and the whole reel is a static 3-up image grid with working tabs and no layout shift if JS never runs. :focus-visible rings on tabs and the pause button, AA contrast captions over a gradient scrim, alt text on every image.
